Infinite Possibilities
Infinity Bay is the island's greenest resort committed to the preservation of the magnificent reef system - a UNESCO World Heritage Site, considered by many the best spot for scuba diving, snorkeling and fishing in the world.
As well as being a luxury Caribbean real estate development, Infinity Bay has committed to be being earth friendly. We have designed our resort and its systems to have zero negative impact on Roatan's beach and the fragile reef system offshore. Our earth friendly features include:
- Sewage Treatment - an advanced aerobic system which emits zero toxins and zero odors into the environment.
- Water Treatment - we have pure, drinkable water from all the taps in every unit using an advanced reverse-osmosis water purification system.
- Solar water heating - soon, we will have solar assisted water heating in order to save electricity now being generated by diesel
- Erosion Control - all construction has been done to control erosion of red clay into the ocean.
- Green Housekeeping Practices - encouraging guests to reduce towel and linen laundry, and use of biodegradable soaps and no bleach.
- Energy Efficient Air Conditioning - our units are constructed to use as little energy cooling as possible. We have added "smart" sensors to turn off lights and ventilation when the villa is unoccupied.
Roatan Beach Destination
Roatan is the largest of the Bay Islands and is located in the Caribbean Sea approximately 35 miles off the north coast of Honduras. Roatan is warm all year round with very little temperature variation and a cooling, temperate breeze.
The island has varying topography from white, sandy beaches, iron shoreline, mangroves, tropical hilltops, lush valleys to reef surrounded waters, part of the second largest reef system in the world. The West End and Sandy Bay Marine Reserve is home to 38 world-class dive sites and some of the most species rich waters in the Caribbean.
Honduras - A Free Port for Business
Recognizing their tourist potential, the Honduran government has just made the Bay Islands a Duty-Free Zone, which is good news for investors of Roatan Island real estate. It is a remarkable law with long-reaching consequences for Roatan. All activities, investments and business opportunities related to tourism will now be tax free, and travelers will enjoy the island's amenities tax and duty free.
Roatan is already experiencing growth in investment:
- Carnival Cruise Lines' new terminal, Mahogany Bay, opens in 2009, at a cost of $50 million and a capacity of 7,000 passengers per day.
- Royal Caribbean has also allocated $30 million to extend the island's current terminal.
- Within five years, cruise ship calls are expected to grow to 225 annually.
Roatan is still comparatively affordable to other luxury Caribbean real estate.
Honduras has a stable government which actively promotes private enterprise, had a 4.4 per cent GDP growth in 2007 and capital appreciation of 15-20 per cent per annum over the last three years.
The Roatan Tourist Board is promoting the island heavily to overseas markets and is working closely with the hotel industry to raise standards to underpin the future of tourism and thereby, revenues. Tourism is Roatan's future and the government is very motivated to accommodate the industry.
